Birthdays are always fun to shoot. Everything about birthday parties screams joy and happiness. So was the case in Elysha's 7th Birthday Celebration, everything was eye candy. Elysha was such a beautiful princess. Anywhere we point our cameras we can see something worth recording and documenting. This was also a special opportunity for us because we were booked for a videography service. This was our first time to shoot an event solely with video. And how could it be difficult when you have a birthday celebrant as adorable as Elysha.

Food Photography | ABC Cafe

We had the pleasure of shooting for ABC Cafe's promo materials. It is always a great experience doing this type of photography. It provides you with a different type of freedom since you have a "model" that literally will not move unless you move them. The only difficult part was trying not to drool over all the mouth watering subjects we were shooting. Of course, ABC Cafe allowed us to try some their delicious offerings... the perks of doing this job. Here are some of the outputs.

UP Diliman Engagement Session | Ador and Hiyas

After a long break in blogging, we are back and we are featuring our engagement shoot of Ador and Hiyas in UP Diliman. During our meetings prior the shoot, the couple showed us pegs of posters of Korean telenovelas that they want to have fun with for the shoot. They wanted their photos to look like it came out from Korean movie posters. It was a challenge but if you have a couple who had a blast during the shoot, plus a location with so much life in it, how could we not pull it off. Here are the photos. Enjoy!

San Agustin Church | Buboy and Mabelle

It is such an honor to be chosen to cover a wedding. This simply means that the couple is trusting us to capture the most important day of their lives. It is how Buboy and Mabelle made us feel during their wedding... trusted. We are still young in the industry and each time we cover an event we are reminded that aside from achieving a number of clients in a month, what is more important is the connection that photographers have with their clients. Heritage Hotel Debut | Danielle Cortez

This is probably one of the most beautiful 18th birthday celebrations we've ever been into and had the pleasure of covering. Danielle was simply astonishing. That was also the case during our pre-debut shoot. She was shimmering like a princess. Everyone in the hall was in awe when she entered. More than her make-up and the dress she was wearing, what made her glow that day was the love that her family has for her. And what better reason there is to celebrate. It was such a beautiful occasion. Enjoy the photos!

Engagement Session | Buboy and Mabelle

Buboy and Mabelle's engagement shoot was extraordinary. It was our first time to shoot in the Ateneo de Manila Campus. Buboy is a lawyer and an alumnus of the said university, while Mabelle is a professional nurse. They gave us three ideas for their photo shoot. First, they wanted to do a fashion shoot. Second, they wanted to show how their respective professions play in their love story. And lastly, they asked to re-enact one of the most memorable moments in their life-- a night when their car broke down. It was a challenge for us, but we would not have pulled it off had our couple not been as eager and as excited to execute the concepts as we were. What made it more fantastic was that our groom-to-be was able to fulfill his dream-- a "GQ-ish" cover photo!

Contemporary Family Portraits | Alvic, Rhanee and Adam

Children are the most interesting subjects in photography, especially if you have a kid like Adam who is the very opposite of camera shy. All you have to do is put your camera in burst mode and pray that you won’t run out of memory cards. Everything he does is just so adorable. Even a simple yawn was so cute. During our family portrait session, Adam’s parents Alvic and Rhanee also weren’t very shy.  They are the most “game” parents in the universe. At one point during the shoot they confessed that it felt like their engagement session but this time with a twist. We did the shoot at Philippine Air Force Museum. It provided a terrific backdrop for such a picture perfect family.

Contemporary Debut Portraits | Danielle Cortez

We haven’t done a commercial spread before. But during Danielle’s portrait shoot, it felt as if it was a shoot worthy of a Guadalupe billboard. A lot of heads turned, and people were even asking who our lovely model was. It was because Danielle was simply stunning. Prior to the shoot, she warned us that she was a bit shy. We had difficulty believing because this lovely gal has a lot of poses up her sleeve. All we did was tell her to pose and she owned the shoot. She turned Bonifacio High Street into her very own personal studio. What made the shoot so awesome is that our self declared “shy” model was having tons of fun. And it was so contagious. Made us forget that we were working.

This is another video post. I recently made an AVP for Office for Social Concern and involvement in Ateneo de Manila. This was during our PACECLAHAN. It was humble day of service to our apostolate area in San Mateo Rizal. We helped in the rehabilitation of their tutorial center.

Graduation Portraits | Happy Kids Integrated School

It is an extraordinary experience shooting children's portraits. Something magical happens when you put them on a stool and place them in front of a camera... they behave... or at least they sit still. We had an amazing experience shooting the portraits of the graduating batch of Happy Kids Integrated School. And who doesn't love having their wacky pictures? These kids can't wait to have theirs taken. So much so that they make their wacky poses immediately after sitting in front of the camera. They're all so adorable.

Here is something that is different from our other posts. Would just like to share an AVP that I made for the Office for Social Concern and Involvement of the Ateneo de Manila University. An office whose work focuses mainly on Student Social Formation. This was used as a teaser for their 35th year anniversary.

Long Beach CA Wedding | Marvin and Crystal

The feeling was probably like a doctor operating on someone very dear to him. The pressure is at its highest. No mistakes allowed. Well not to gross you out, but that was how I felt when I was shooting my sister's wedding last October. In my case the pressure wasn't all about making mistakes, it's because  I was  telling myself that this should be the most beautiful coverage yet because my sister and her husband deserve it. And it was indeed a beautiful garden wedding. Everything was picturesque. From the clear California skyline specked with flying seagulls to the sunset which was made even more beautiful by their first kiss as a couple. It was colder than our Santa Monica E-session, but we still went for the photo shoot by the docks.And it was awesome.

Santa Monica Pier Engagement Session | Marvin and Crystal

I cannot recall how many times I've seen Santa Monica Pier in the movies. The last time was probably Iron Man I. There is something about its classic theme park look that draws artists to it. So when I went to California last year, I promised myself that I have to get me one of those photo shoots in Santa Monica Pier. To cut the story short, my dream came true.

It was a bit late when we got to Santa Monica Pier for the shoot. We only had a couple of hours left before the  park closes and turn off their beautiful lights. It was very cold but Marvin and Crystal did what they have to do to make it an awesome engagement shoot. Even though exhausted from their wedding rehearsal, they were still perfect for that late night photo shoot. What made it even more amazing is that I was shooting my sister's engagement session.

Kiddie Birthday Party | Maya and Rina

Kiddie parties always make us feel like a child: so eager to join in the fun games and receive prizes; so curious on what is inside the loot bags; and so awed by the dancing mascot. That was exactly what happened during Maya and Rina's double birthday celebration. It was such a beautiful play of fun and colors. They both looked so cute and adorable in their Minnie Mouse costumes. They were also as lovely during their family portrait shoot a couple of weeks before the party.

Barsoain Church | Jess and Susan

Silver, golden, diamond... we were able to label celebrations depending on the number of years the celebration is worth. I have not heard of a Pearl Wedding before. Not until we booked a Pearl Wedding Anniversary in Bulacan August of last year. Much like a pearl which is used as a metaphor for something very rare, special and valuable, Tito Jess and Tita Susan's renewal of vows during their 30th wedding anniversary perfectly fits the description. They are the parents of Inah Bernardo, our previous client (see Bulacan Debut). It was such a wonderful celebration of love, family and spirituality. During the renewal of vows, the priest called to their 4 children to give the homily. All four of them spoke about how blessed they were to have wonderful parents. It was a very heartfelt moment, even the male sponsors were teary eyed. The Barsoain Church also provided a very beautiful backdrop for the celebration. Also much like their family, beautifully withstanding the tests of time.

Parañaque Wedding | Paul and Siovy

This is probably the most historic post to date...as this is the first Reeltime Wedding Coverage! We had the privilege of covering Paul and Siovy's Wedding in Parañaque. Paul is the brother of Victor, one of our first clients (see UP engagement session). It was a bit challenging because we never got to meet Siovy before the wedding day. So, we didn't get to hear her opinions on the coverage details. Everything was based on our brief conversation with Paul and a few email exchange. But it was still a kick-ass coverage! 

Siovy looked stunning in her simple but elegant dress. Paul was equally dashing. But what was   great about the couple is how readily game they are to pose for us. We even literally tried to stop the Chateau Elysee traffic during their portrait shoot! 

There are really a lot of things to tell about this historical experience... but for now, let's just let the pictures do the talking.
